First Impressions, Set the mood for your wedding

Whats the first thing guests will see when they walk into your reception? Usually its the place card table or perhaps a feature drink table, whatever it is it should be show stopping and set the mood for the entire event!

Get the Look:

Pink Drink Table: The risers for this look are acutually 2 wooden table tops from Home Depot painted pink set on top of a few tall candleholders from Crate and Barrel with a floral topper set on the top tier

Jeweled Tree Place Card Table: This look is simple, a tall vase filled with manzinita branches painted blue and accented with hanging jewels and antique hydrangeas

Floral Lamp: This drink table was made by placing the floral lamp on a box as a riser and covering it with a linen. A wrought iron stand was stuffed with floral foam so the flower stems could be inserted through the iron and the lamp shade was set on top with a led light inside

All Roses - A classic Bridal look!

For some girls a bouquet of white roses is the go to bouquet for the big day! But even white roses can be interpreted in so many ways. Check out these 2 bouquets featuring this popular bridal bloom.
The first bouquet is bundle of avalanche roses that are large headed roses with a white center and soft green tips on the outer petals. Paired with greens its a stunning classic bridal look.
The Second bouquet is a modern take on a rose bouquet, featuring 75 white akito roses which are tiny, they are inserted into a foam holder and locked into place to create a ball shape. The white plastic handle is covered with the stems of calla lillies, calla stems are sturdy and sleek with no thorns or knots and create a smooth and luxurious look!

Colorful Elegance

For this Jasna Polana Wedding in Princeton NJ, the bride went with a classic and traditional theme but added color for some fun and whimsy! One of my fave details that makes this event fun is the cupcake tower, while a fun and whimsical idea it was created to look stunningly elegant! Another key note for this event, you don't have to have all the same centerpieces, here you can see a tall iron stand with a traditional topper of flowers and hanging votives and a low centerpiece of beautiful candle holders set amidst a cascade of blooms. Other personal touches are the monogramed embroidered pieces and the custom stationery!

Get this look: The tall CP was actually a green patina'd iron stand that was painted gold to tie in with the candle holders. Jewels were draped down the center to give it some color and sparkle. Hanging votives were added for a romantic glow. The flowers consisted of luxurious blooms including hybrid roses, hydrangeas, orchids and dahlias.

Bouquet Breakdown, Winter Bouquet

If you are looking for a romantic and sweet look for a winter or early spring wedding this is a great option. While lots of brides opt for the snowy season to say I do they don't realize their floral options will be so limited. Be Creative with colors, you don't have to do red, green and white. The simplest flowers like mums and pom poms can be a great backdrop for one feature bloom like the black and white anemone!

Bouquet Breakdown, A Spring Classic

When Brides are planning their wedding in the spring, the first thing that comes to mind is Peonies! Peonies are an amazing bloom that are only around in the spring and for a very short time period and of course they are a bridal favorite. In this classic bouquet the pink peonies are the star with their lush petals and creamy pink glow set against the classics, antique hydrangeas, callas, roses and pearl studded stephanotis.

A Wedding at Home...on the farm

This Gorgeous Event took place at a couples home on their farm in New Jersey! This couple was going for a homey and comfy feel to match the rustic setting but still retain a formal yet fun atmosphere with a touch of whimsy. How did they achieve this look? By pairing fun colors brought in through the linens and flowers with rustic details brought in with the walnut ballroom chairs and rattan chargers. The whimsical details came through in the custom stationery by Couture Papers, polka dot ribbons on the napkins and hanging paper lanterns!

The whole look started with the invites...Its important to have a source of inspiration to keep you grounded so when  you are out and about you can keep your eye out for little details that may be perfect for your event! The wood boxes that the flowers were set in can be found at any number of places including your local craft stores, antique markets and online. Ribbon is also a great way to bring in a touch of whimsy, while you can always shop your local craft store also keep in mind online stores that sell in bulk and check out your local fabric stores for fun trim and beading!

Modern Luxury

Looking for a bold and beautifully breathtaking tabletop?Try mixing a palette of 2 complimentary colors, a modern array of flowers and a clustered arrangement of vases partnered with clean lines, fun linens and a little sparkle!

This look features bouquets of orange callas, marie claire roses and mokara orchids accented with smaller arrangements of green goddess callas and green hydrangeas. The beaded trims hanging from the bouquets and the orange beads in the smaller vases can be found at local craft stores but are also readily available to florists at wholesale markets. Another great way to find great bling for your event is to shop at christmas time! The stores a are full of great things that can used for wedding decor! The White risers that the vases and votives sit on are actually a great find from a crate and barrel outlet store! They are square bowls, ramacans and butter dishes flipped upside down. The tall rectangular vases are standard items that florist have easy access to and also can be found in places like Micheals, Walmart, Target etc... Remember think outside of the box and experiment with some unexpected products!

Bouquet Breakdown

Love this soft and romantic look, it was created for a wine them wedding! The ivy circling the bottom of the bouquet is a great way to add an earthy touch.

Love Preston Bailey's Daily Inspiration - Plaid!

Love Preston Bailey's Tip of the Day

Preston BaileyToday's inspiration image: Playing with Plaidhttp://inspirations.prestonbailey.com/2010/11/08/fashion-in-design-playing-with-plaid/

I think a great interpretation of this trend would be a great silk plaid linen overlay with really simple all one color flowers so the tabletop can really be a the focal point and the flowers simply a compliment! Using a really great patterned overlay is also a great substitute for expensive flowers, you can get an overlay for $35 - $65 that can really make a statement and accent with a few candles as a CP, this will give you more impact then a $35 - $65 centerpiece...

Country Club Couture

Jasna Polana is one of the most breathtaking country clubs located in Princeton NJ. It boasts beautiful grounds, a stunning estate and the perfect garden setting to say I do! This particular wedding was a romantic and traditional affair with a modern flare. The color scheme consisted of gold, white and navy with pops of orange and fuschia. The modern flare came in with the square white chargers and custom stationery by Couture Papers. The flowers were also grouped by color and placed in tight bouquets atop various height rectangular vases. This look paired with square candles and votives atop white square risers ( bowls from crate and barrel)  created a stunningly different tabletop. Full rose bouquets in pink and orange had a signature "beauty mark", a single white rose. Each bouquet was also wrapped differently which was just one of those small details that make all the difference! The Bride carried a bouquet of 75 white akito roses which were inserted into a foam holder then wrapped with calla lilly stems as they are much sleeker and prettier then the actual rose stems.

Get this Look:

Flowers: Bouquets of Roses were placed on top of simple rectangular vases with the stems wrapped in gold and navy ribbon. These particular roses were white akito, marie claire and hot lady roses

Tabletop: 2 Alternating looks were used for this event which is a great way to add interest to a ballroom. One look featured bouquets up high and square votives set in groups of 4 inside a square vase low and the alternating tables were the opposite, tall square pillar candles in the tall vases and rows of roses in the lower squares

What makes this look couture? The attention to detail ,the use of space on the tabletop and the complimenting custom stationary by Couture Papers

What makes this look modern: Square everything, clean lines and all one style flower grouped by color

Earthy and Elegant at Fernbrook Farms

This simply elegant wedding took place at Fernbrook Farm, a great location for any green bride! Mainstreet Catering always does an amazing job of infusing the farm fresh ingredients into their yummy cuisine! The dramatic color palette of plum and chartreuse was the perfect pairing with nature filled backdrop. The rustic touches came in with walnut chairs and woven chargers to match the landscape. My favorite part of this event is how the couple infused their wedding style into every element from the flowers to the cake and stationery. One of my favorite photographers, Zlatko Batistich, captured timeless images of the couple on the sprawling grounds.

Another Gorgeous Chapel Wedding

I love doing weddings at the Princeton Chapel, it is truly enchanting! Here is another great wedding, the couple really infused their Princeton Pride with lots of fun PU details. The Florals were fall inspired with a modern color scheme of green and orange but we kept it simple and romantic for the low key bride and groom. The bride wore the ever popular lace but this monique lhuillier was simply stunning! I have a soft spot for her gowns since thats what I wore : )

Ashford Estate, New Jersey: Fit for A Princess

It was so exciting to be a part of the premier wedding at Ashford Estate, the newest venue by the owners of Bonnet Island and Mallard. This is truly a grand estate fit for a princess and if you are engaged this is a place to check out! For this event sky was the limit and nothing was sparred! From Purple Velvet Chameleon Chairs to jewel studded linens and everything draped in crystals this was an unforgettable event. There are so many details I would love to share but for now here is a little taste of this incredible event.

Classic Fall Bouquet

A Classic look and a timeless favorite...Multiple textures and muted tones give it a warm and rich look with a gold corded stem wrap for the touch of luxury!

Antique Charm at the Nassau Inn

For this end of summer soiree, I created rustic and traditional decor to compliment the historically charming Nassau Inn. A palette of Antique Flowers including rust tipped hydrangeas, burgundy tiramisu spray roses, auburn, peach and coral roses were the perfect pairing for the buttery yellow and white accent roses. Sweeping greens and flowing ribbons in lots of textures and colors completed this romantic look.
